TATTOOS: IDEAS NOT TO BE TRIVIAL
that’s why I don’t tattoo phoenixes and other things
2022 Anno Domini and all the tattoos look pretty much the same
everyone gets a tattoo of phoenixes because they have defeated their own internal monster
everyone gets a tattoo of infinity because their friendship will never end
everyone gets a tattoo of butterflies because they feel free and happy
like people in the 90s, they used to get tattoos with dolphins and winged unicorns or tribal tattoos on their lower back
in 2022 that new generations – those who mostly love tattoos – take to the streets to stand up for their differences, their uniqueness
in 2022 that the world of work is changing and new professions that didn’t even exist born
in 2022 that a revolution is getting ready on all fronts, I would love to see a little more originality on tattoos subjects, too
and you, wouldn’t you like new ideas for your next tattoo?
wouldn’t you like a non-trivial tattoo?
wouldn’t you like a unique tattoo, ONLY YOURS and not copied and copyable from the internet?
wouldn’t you like something new AND ONLY YOURS to tattoo your endless friendship with your best friend?
I don’t tattoo phoenixes and I don’t tattoo mermaids
because I’m dyslexic and I don’t understand these images, BUT, I understand very well the
meanings that are behind these subjects
I don’t even tattoo compasses or hourglasses
because they are always chosen to represent a concept which, however, is in stark contrast to
the aesthetics of the image: “time flies, everything left is lost, live life” versus “heavy and sinking images, cumbersome and full of details, which have nothing to do with the light-heartedness of that thought”
and I don’t even tattoo infinitives for the same reason: “love, friendship, or any other feeling that
will never end” versus “a mathematical symbol that mathematics and love have nothing to do with one another”
so what?
so you can find thousands of ways to draw these feelings with something
a little less ordinary, but personalized and that really has an emotional impact on your brain
every time you see your tattoo
here is for example a phoenix that I tattooed:
how did a phoenix become like this?
we found out that it was a change of mindset and approach to life after having destroyed a part of his life with his own hands and then from this total destruction, total idiot, he banged his head hard and succeeded to create something new, wonderful, dazzling, created with his hands, his effort, his dreams
instead , this is a mermaid:
how did she become like that?
talking about it we found out that it was about a feeling of living hidden in a different world, where the thoughts and paths are different – a bit like an “Alice in wonderland” – inside of which she feels in a familiar place, she recognizes the mechanisms and effects and manages tomove smoothly
and this is a compass:
how did it happen?
we understood that
you can dance light and graceful
and happy on the passing of
melancholy time,
which passes and flows like
a boat without a captain,
time still flows, moves and passes,
and instead of standing there
motionless and amazed you can
dance on it like a queen
that’s why I don’t tattoo
certain things
and that’s why, however, there are
a thousands of ways to be mocking,
different, anarchist and
you can spice up a good ole plate of meatballs
do you want to be original in choosing what to get tattooed?
alright, start like this:
don’t think about WHAT
don’t think about the subjects
don’t think: “ah cool a lion, I like it a lot!”
instead think about WHY you want to get a tattoo
think about what you have gone through, what you want to glorify, who you want to pay tribute to, what part of you, to which part of the world
do you love traveling and you don’t know what to get tattooed?
everything, but please don’t get a flying airplane tattoo
everyone has already done it, millions of people
think instead why do you love traveling?
how does it make you feel free? how does it open your mind? how does it make you
dream? do you feel light? do you feel powerful? do you feel full of life? do you feel teeny tiny?
do you feel humble? gritty? inappropriate?
MAKE YOURSELF IMPORTANT QUESTIONS:
how do you feel?
how are you? how does your tattoo subject make you feel?
or how would you like to feel about this in the future?
do you want to get tattooed because you had a baby girl?
very good! not the name though, right? with an infinity symbol and a feather or a colored pacifier….
INSTEAD ASK YOURSELF: How does your child make you feel?
what has she changed in you? what did you feel when you held her in your arms? how did she change your approach to life? why do you want to get a tattoo? why everyone gets a tattoo after having a baby? or
why do you feel that something big has happened and you want to go through this passage of life with glory?
stop wondering WHAT and start wondering WHY ^_^
then read this article HERE which gives you some practical examples and then move on to the PSYCHO department DESIGN of this blog: there is a slew of image meanings that you can use to translate YOUR
WHY in your WHAT
Uh: and I don’t even tattoo animals with pointed snouts – such as wolves, giraffes, horses… – but
that’s another matter: I really don’t like them from an aesthetic point of view, I don’t know how to
draw them as I would like them to be… so nothing
with love, but always irriverent
