MONSTERA – change of perspective

Monstera is a plant – so far, so good – with weird heart-shaped leaves, full of holes, that can become huge in its natural habitat and climb and crawl huge trees

with its gigantic pierced leaves, it covers forests and the unlucky person who ventures into the forest at night and sees its eyes illuminated by the lunar light moving and howling along with the wind, can wet himself thinking he is in the middle of the dark forest – on the path of his life – or in the infested forest of Snow White,

MONSTERA = MONSTERS
it was not rocket science!

and so the name of the plant derives from its ability to look like a scary monster, at night, without light, when you cannot see things as they really are

but then if you look at it with the sunlight, the plant is a heart
Monstera is a plant full of heart-shaped leaves, sweet and pretty, cutie

this is where the symbolism of Monstera comes from:
what is scared and threatening can actually be something totally
different,
you just need to change the point of view

turn the light on
wait for the sunrise
look closer

and even some people, often, seen from afar and with the light off,
seem unpleasant and grumpy
perhaps pricks

but if you get closer and try to know them?
everything changes

you’ll find a huge heart, hidden to those that don’t want to look
like shyness, perhaps, that makes people hiding in the background
and doesn’t show the treasure it’s hiding

or like life obstacles that we’re afraid to look straight in the eyes

sometimes, we just need the courage to look at things, open our eyes and really look at them and maybe we find out that they are not what we thought, definitely not

and finally….the ancients used to wave the giant leaves of Monstera as a ritual to drive out the evil, monsters, ugly thoughts
I wonder why ^_^

With love, but always irreverent
