partisan<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i>who died for freedom!&#8221;<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>and the symbol of partisans is the poppy<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"s1\"> it\u2019s the symbol of their <\/span><a href=\"blog\/poppy-blog\/la-rivoluzione-dei-papaveri-ep-7\"> death <\/a><span class=\"s1\"> and rebirth<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"> of their <\/span><a href=\"blog\/poppy-blog\/la-rivoluzione-dei-papaveri-ep-8\">red <\/a>hearts full of fire<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>poppies are the flowers under which the partisans were buried<\/p>\n<p>in fact<i>, they\u2019re red as the partisans<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>every year those poppies bloom to remind us of all the Italians who died for our freedom<\/p>\n<p>the same freedom that nowadays <b>seems so vital for us<\/b>, <i>as we\u2019re locked down in quarantine for an absurd global pandemic<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>immeasurable<\/p>\n<p>strong<\/p>\n<p><b>so damn essential<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>and we keep staying home, waiting for<i> our April 25<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>April 25 belongs to everybody<\/b><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s apolitical<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">it&#8217;s the celebration of people, <i>of each single individual<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"> it&#8217;s the celebration of those who chose <\/span><span class=\"s2\"><a href=\"blog\/poppy-blog\/la-rivoluzione-dei-papaveri-ep-6-by-ladysara\">resistance<br \/>\n<\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"s1\"><a href=\"blog\/poppy-blog\/la-rivoluzione-dei-papaveri-ep-14\"> optimism <\/a><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>of those who intimately chose their homeland<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>and the partisans\u2019\u00a0 <a href=\"blog\/poppy-blog\/la-rivoluzione-dei-papaveri-ep-7\">grave<\/a><\/p>\n<p>is in these meadows<\/p>\n<p>that are located around us, located <i>everywhere<\/i><\/p>\n<p>where they resisted<\/p>\n<p>where they sowed a freer future for us all<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>that we can&#8217;t wait to embrace again<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\"><span class=\"s1\"><b>poppy is a\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span class=\"s2\"><b><a href=\"blog\/poppy-blog\/la-rivoluzione-dei-papaveri-ep-5-by-ladysara\">free <\/a><\/b><\/span><b>flower<\/b><\/p>\n<p>and on this day, April 25, is pinned on the jackets of the Italians<\/p>\n<p>to unite us all<\/p>\n<p>to remind us that we are all together, that we are all Italians<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>&#8220;OH BELLA CIAO&#8221;<\/b><\/h3>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>is the hymn of resistance and freedom<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>it&#8217;s said that this <b>song wasn&#8217;t sung by the partisans <\/b>during the resistance, but that became a symbol later on&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><i>maybe twenty years later<\/i><\/p>\n<p>when the war was already over<\/p>\n<p>but Italy wasn&#8217;t united yet<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>we needed something to unite all the <\/b>different anti-fascist factions,<b><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p>all the dialects, all the varieties, all the souls<\/p>\n<p><i>united for real,<\/i> from North to South under the same flag<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>united not only against <i>the invaders<\/i><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>but also united to escape the devastation caused by WW2 and by twenty years of Fascism regime<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>April 25, 2020 is getting closer<\/b><\/p>\n<p>and perhaps we still won&#8217;t be free<\/p>\n<p>but perhaps we&#8217;ll all be closer to each other than yesterday<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>separated by a mask, a pair of gloves and keeping one-meter distance<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>separated from the walls of our apartments<\/p>\n<p><b>but united, as a community<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>to get out of the devastation that the pandemic will leave around us<\/p>\n<p>in our hearts, in our memory,<\/p>\n<p>and that we will see in the streets when the padlocks will reopen<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">with love, but always irreverent<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">L A D Y S A R
